Ceramic tiles as the name suggest are made up of clay, though with continuous innovation and technological breakthrough more elements are added to make it more reliable and durable. Glaze is applied in the surface which helps not only protect the ceramic body but also helps in experimenting with wide variety of colour & applications.
Vitrified tiles are very similar to ceramic tiles but with very low porosity and works as perfect alternative to granite, stone & marbles. These tiles are manufactured with clay been mixed with quartz feldspar and silica before heated in the kiln. These extra ingredients melt, creating a glass element making it very hard and resistant to any type of absorption.
Double charge is a vitrified tiles two colours on the tiles bisque are press feed and makes a thick layer of design on top of it (tiles are passed through a press that prints the pattern with a double layer of pigment). So such design layer becomes 3 to 4 mm thicker. This makes double charge vitrified tiles ideal choice for heavy traffic commercial projects. Single charged tiles are nothing but basic vitrified tiles with a 1mm glazing at the top(Just before the tiles are fired upon, liquid colour screen printing is done on them. Soluble salts are added to the colour, which form different patterns, shapes and designs).
Nano polished vitrified tiles: If we apply a layer of liquid silica on vitrified tiles then it fills the micro (nano) pores on the tiles surface and makes it smoother in feel. This type of tiles is called nano polished vitrified tiles. Nowadays most of the factories offer nano polishing for soluble salt tiles so fewer pores are visible and tiles looks more shiny & smooth.
Grout plays important part in placing your favourite tiles. Grout has it's functionality defined according to usage and economy. It also helps adding to overall ambience. Basically Grout are to types Cementitious Powder mix or Cement based grout and Epoxy resin based grout. Both are available in various colors and shades. Epoxy grout is extremely durable and almost completely stain-proof. Regular cement based grout isn't waterproof, so unlike epoxy grout, it can absorb water when it's wet and stain easily.
Build Mart provides all available textures available in Indian and International markets, some of the textures are mentioned below.
Length times width of the area to be covered will give you square footage. For most installations, add 5-7% for cutting loss, and enough to keep on hand for any repairs. When the installation is on a diagonal, or when you are using a multi-size pattern, you should add 12-15%.
Water traps can be either P type (outlet into the wall) or S type (outlet into the floor).
From the maintenance point of view, there is no difference between the two. From installation point of view, P trap would normally be used in upper floors where the waste pipe is outside the wall. However these can also be used on ground floors if the pipeline for waste is on an outside wall.
S Trap requires a pipeline to run below floor level and is therefore used on the ground floor or on upper floors if the roof slabs are made deep enough.
It delivers a high water flow even in low water pressure condition. It can be used on the top floor of the building where we always get less water pressure.
This one’s up to you, and with a bit of research, you can decide what’s right for you. While a single-handle faucet offers convenient control of water volume and temperature, double-handle faucets offer additional styles and spout designs.
